Satan Loves Cake
Satan Loves Cake was actually submitted to A Game By Its Cover 2019 Game Jam back in June last year, so this news is about as old as it will get for this weekly update. It’s a mini-metroidvania where you take control of a gluttonous Satan with only one goal in mind – eat more cake. You can find the game for free (donations recommended) on itch.io
New Steam Pages
You may have noticed in the past week or so that the Sokpop Collective has been migrating their Game Collection onto Steam from Itch.io. Their goal is to make a new game every two weeks, and they have games from basically any genre you can imagine. Bobo Robot is their stab at the Metroidvania genre, joining the Mini-Metroidvania category.
Inspired by classics including Cave Story, Willy Jetman doesn’t specifically call out the genre name, but words like “Explore” in the store description and the screenshots definitely show promise that this game will be relevant to fans of Metroidvania games. Also coming to Switch and PS4!
Unformed joins the growing group of souls-like Metroidvania hybrids. True to the genre that inspires it, it promises a shroud of mystery. It’s set to come to early access on Steam later this quarter.
