Mini Metroidvania High Fit
Mini Ghost review
A Mini-Metroidvania as advertised. While not the best "Minimalist" Metroidvania I've played, it's still a fun diversion with a cute theme if you enjoyed Ghost 1.0.

It’s a Mini-Metroidvania as advertised. While it follows the pattern of wandering around a map collecting power-ups, there’s a special emphasis on buying power-ups as well. While I did not buy every one available, I still had to grind a little bit to get the ones I wanted, along with the ones I really needed. The game lets you save on every screen if you’ve cleared all the enemies, so save scumming is a natural strategy to go along with its clunky retro mechanics.
For this kind of simple display of Metroidvania tropes, I prefer something like K.O.L.M or Dungeon of Zolthan, but this was a fun little diversion nevertheless. I clocked in about 2 hours for completion.
If you’ve played Ghost, there’s a cute little comic strip before and after you beat the game that you might enjoy. But if you were expecting something profound out of this “prequel” you’re not going to find it.
If you’re into streaming games, this has a few options that are intended to enhance that purpose. You’ll also get a lot more out of this game if you enjoy hunting for achievements, or modded content.

Metroidvania breakdown
Combat
3/5Basic but effective MSX/NES style shooting
Platforming
2.5/5Occasional difficult jumps with swarming enemies to knock you off the platform
Exploration
3/5A good large map to explore, but a lot of power-ups are obtained by grinding money instead
Puzzle
2/5Some bosses require specific items to beat
Story
2/5If you liked Ghost 1.0, it's a cute theme, but pretty much throw-away even if you are a fan of that game
Graphics
2/5Appealing ancient pixel art style - can get a lot of skins through Steam Workshop
Music
2/5Catchy tunes from Ghost 1.0, but now MSX style and on infinite loop. Gets old
Replayability
2/5This game was strictly designed for challenge running and even includes streaming options. That said, not much to make subsequent runs different other than improving your skills
Mini Ghost was played on Steam.

Ghost 1.0
Emphasis on Wave-Based challenge rooms and robot possession puzzles add a unique twist to the Metroidvania explorative format. Story seems cringe at first, but it really grew on me.
UnEpic – Single Player Mode
UnEpic pulls off strategy and action with varying degrees of success, but the true value of the game will come from whether you are in the target audience for the story it presents.
Alchemist’s Castle
A fun little Mini-Metroidvania that will provide a good hour or two of block pushing and exploration. Not super amazing, but for $1 it provides just enough to make it worth looking at.
